Yes, we’re back…

Yes, it’s been many, many months since we released the Prelude, but here we are finally getting things going.  It’s not that we intended things to work out this way, but life happens…  Thanks to everyone for their extreme patience.  I hope we’ll get the releases out on a much more regular basis moving forward.

Anyway, Chapter 1 gets the story in full swing, presenting the alternate opening to the D.C. II story (as seen in the game and D.C. II S.S. anime).  For those with time to spare and inclined to read moderately-interesting commentary and trivia, two pages of End-Notes await you at the end of the chapter.

And now, the links.  Enjoy!

Chapter 0: Prelude

yakusoku’s first project begins!

Da Capo II Imaginary Future is a side-story spin-off manga based on Circus’s top-selling 18+ (adults-only) game, D.C. II ~Da Capo II~ (link contains suggestive content on sub-pages).  It’s been serialized in MediaWorks’ monthly Dengeki G’s Magazine since the 2007-03 issue (released in January 2007).  This chapter, the Prelude, originally appeared in a book that accompanied the 2007-02 issue.  The story for the manga is being written and produced by the staff at Circus, and in particular the game’s director and lead scenario writer, Chihare Ameno.  The art and manga adaptation is being produced by the relatively new artist Tsukasa Unohana (that’s her homepage).

This is actually the second manga based on Da Capo II in active serialization.  The other manga, running in Kadokawa’s Comptiq magazine, is considered to be the “canon” adaptation of the story (i.e. it’s based directly on the game).  As the title “Imaginary Future” suggests, this manga proposes an alternate deviation from the game’s premise, where fan-favourite Nanaka Shirakawa (speculated to be a descendant of the famous Kotori Shirakawa) is the story’s main heroine.

Without further ado, here’s the chapter itself.  Enjoy!
